Although there are many who believe humans play a large roll when it comes to global warming, some scientists believe otherwise. In his article titled "Who is the Real Culprit" a doctor by the name of Andy Ho believes that carbon dioxide is not the true cause of global warming. The main point that Dr. Ho was trying to convey had to deal with that fact that carbon dioxide is not the main cause of global warming and therefore humans are not the main cause. I do not agree at all with Dr. Ho for the fact that it has been proven time and time again taht carbon dioxide plays a roll in global warming.
The problem is that Dr. Ho is backing up his argument by explaining that he feels the sun to be a bigger contributor to global warming then humans. This statement has been proven wrong by many scientists who believe the sun has not been a cause of global warming for thousands of years. I believe that humans are playing a large roll when it comes to global warming but the temperature of the earth is not rising nearly as fast as certain people believe. This doesn't mean that this issue is not an important one.
If humans had no role at all when it came to global warming, then this topic would stop coming up so often in the news. The way our world lives these days has given some scientists reason to believe we are to blame for a part of global warming. We are emitting more greenhouse gasses into the air now, then ever before. The fact that our world is developing at such a rapid pace leads me to believe that humans have played some sort of role when it comes to global warming.
Although science has never proven that global warming has been caused at all by humans it is clear to me that we play a major roll in its development. Most recently global warming has caused a decrease in alpine glacier sizes, and warmer, dryer conditions throughout the Middle East. It cannot just be a coincidence that as our world continues to develop these types of things start to happen. Although some believe that humans play no role in global warming, in my mind it is clear that they we something to do with it.

Trying to Control Global Warming
If the countries of the United States and China continue to emit greenhouse gases into the air at the rate they are now, it will harm poor areas such as Africa more then it will themselves. The United States has always been a proponent of helping other countries by using their resources. In this case no resources would be needed. The United States and China are countries that are fit to deal with the problems that can be caused by global warming. On the other hand, countries in Africa would be at more of a risk because of the resources they have compared to what the United States and China have.
The greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere are not only leading to a higher temperature on earth but they are also causing huge economic losses. Although they have no come up with an exact number of dollars per ton of carbon or per ton of carbon monoxide the cost is becoming increasingly expensive (Wikipedia "global warming"). If it is costing it so much to deal with the problems of global warming why won't we come up with a better system to deal with it? In my mind the first step with be to try and enact the Kyoto Protocol, because it seems that all it is doing is being a label for something that has never been put to use. The United States would either need to hop on board with the Protocol, or come up with a better solution that other countries would buy into.
There is going to need to be drastic improvements within the economies of the United States and China if we want to turn this problem around. Countries all over the world look at the United States and China as the benchmarks when it comes to their actions. If both of these countries can lead by example there will be a better chance of other countries buying in to the theory that maybe global warming can be controlled.

Environmental Issues - Global Warming
For the last one-hundred years the earth’s surface temperature has been on the rapid rise leaving scientists to wonder what the state of the earth will be in the years to come. If this problem continues it seems that the future could hold some major problems for society as we know it.
To have any chance of getting this problem under control it seems that we will need to change certain aspects of our lifestyles. The fact that our society is emitting so many greenhouse gases into the atmosphere is one of the major concerns when it comes to stabilizing the problem. Our society has become so accustomed to a certain way of living I feel it would be hard for the majority to change. The problem is, if we don’t change consequences such as species extinction and a rise in sea level will occur. Although there are other aspects in the world such as volcanoes that contribute to global warming, humans have played a crucial role in its development. Humans will also have to play a crucial role if we plan on getting this problem under control.
We have known about this problem for so long and still refuse to really take a stand and try to control it knowing it could cause fatal outcomes in the future. The Kyoto Protocol calls for a limitation on the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere (Wikipedia “global warming"). The problem is the United States is one of the few who has not ratified this Protocol. Which some will say would be a knock on the United States but of the countries who have signed the Protocol who is actually enforcing it? Just because you put it in writing does not guarantee it will be followed.
It seems if we are ever going to stabilize this problem we will have to begin with two of the most powerful countries in the world, whom also happen to be the two biggest emitters of greenhouse gases the United States and China. With how technologically advanced these two countries are it would seem that drastic improvements will need to be made if the world stands a chance of stabilizing global warming.
